GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

The Central Asian Journal of Social Science and History provides a platform for scholars and researchers to publish high-quality, peer-reviewed research in the field of social sciences. Authors submitting manuscripts must adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a smooth review and publication process.

1. General Submission Requirements

  • The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • The research must align with the scope of the journal, focusing on social science topics such as sociology, politic and government, media and communication, public policy, and related interdisciplinary studies.
  • Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the journal's online submission system.
  • All submissions must follow the formatting and citation style of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition.

2. Manuscript Structure

Each manuscript should be structured as follows:

Title Page

  • The title should be concise, informative, and relevant to the study.
  • Include the full names of all authors, their institutional affiliations, and email addresses.
  • Clearly indicate the corresponding author.

Abstract

  • The abstract should be 150–250 words, summarizing the research objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions.
  • Include 4–6 keywords relevant to the study.

Introduction

  • Provide background information and a clear statement of the research problem.
  • Justify the significance of the study and outline the research objectives.
  • Identify the research gap and how the study contributes to the field.

Theoretical Framework

  • Discuss relevant theories and concepts that support the study.
  • Explain why these frameworks were chosen and how they relate to the research.

Methodology

  • Clearly describe the research design (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods).
  • Detail the sampling strategy, data collection techniques, and data analysis methods.
  • Address any ethical considerations, including participant consent and confidentiality.

Results

  • Present key findings objectively, without interpretation.
  • Use tables, figures, or charts where necessary to illustrate data.
  • Highlight significant trends, statistical analyses, or qualitative themes.

Discussion

  • Interpret the results in relation to the research objectives and theoretical framework.
  • Compare findings with existing literature and discuss implications for the field.
  • Address any unexpected results and their potential significance.

Conclusion and Recommendations

  • Summarize key findings and restate how they address the research questions.
  • Discuss the broader implications of the study and suggest future research directions.
  • Provide practical recommendations if applicable.

References

  • Follow APA 7th edition style for citations and references.
  • Ensure all sources cited in the text are included in the reference list.
  • Use DOI links for journal articles where available.

Appendices (if necessary)

  • Include supplementary materials such as questionnaires, additional data, or figures.

3. Formatting and Style

  • Manuscripts should be written in English.
  • Use Arial, 10-point font, 1,16 space throughout.
  • Maintain 1-inch margins on all sides.
  • Use headings and subheadings consistently to improve readability.
  • Tables and figures should be labeled appropriately and included within the text.
  • Equations and statistical formulas should be clearly formatted using an equation editor.

4. Ethical Considerations

  • The manuscript must adhere to ethical research standards as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
  • Authors must declare any conflicts of interest.
  • Research involving human subjects must have obtained ethical approval from a recognized institution, and participants' consent must be documented.
  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. All submissions will be checked using plagiarism detection software.

5. Peer Review Process

  • The journal follows a double-blind peer review process, where both author and reviewer identities are concealed.
  • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts.
  • Authors will receive feedback and may be required to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer comments.
  • Final decisions on publication are made by the editor-in-chief based on reviewer recommendations.

6. Submission and Processing Timeline

  • Initial screening: Within 14 days of submission.
  • Peer review: Typically completed within 3–4 weeks.
  • Revisions: Authors will be given 1–2 weeks to submit revisions.
  • Final decision: Issued within 8 weeks of the initial submission.
  • Publication: Accepted papers are published in the next available issue.

7. Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.
  • All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), allowing others to share and adapt the work with proper attribution.
